I recently had the opportunity to visit Seattle, my mother’s birthplace. It was my first time there in over 20 years. The last time I went I wasn’t into photography, it was great getting to return to this city as a photographer so I could capture some Seattle photos. I remember really enjoying the city the last time I came here, 20 years later, it is still as cool and pretty as I remembered it.

Exploring Seattle with my camera in hand was an incredible journey of discovering the city’s vibrant people and places. From the bustling Pike Place Market with its lively vendors and quirky performers to the serene beauty of Gas Works Park, each location has its unique charm.

The colorful characters I encountered on my street photography walks added a dynamic pulse to the city. The vibrant murals and eclectic architecture provided a perfect backdrop for capturing the spirit of Seattle. Each photo tells a story of the city’s rich diversity and dynamic energy, making Seattle not just a place to visit, but a living canvas of color and culture.

This is a small section of the famous and very gross gum wall, it’s actually more like, gum walls:

There were also really cool abstract art and architecture around the city that add a cool flair to my Seattle photos.

Of course while there, I had to visit the legendary first Starbucks location at Pike’s Place Market.

Seattle Skyline

On my first evening there I went to a park to see the skyline but it was pretty cloudy, so visibility wasn’t very good. But, on my second evening, I was extremely fortunate to be able to capture the skyline with a perfectly clear sky that made Mt. Rainier visible in the distance. I was able to capture this beautiful panorama of the city. The park from where I took that photo was full of other people there also taking photos of the skyline. It was awesome seeing the joy people’s face as they enjoyed the spectacular sight.

And then I waited till the sunset was complete to capture Seattle’s skyline at night.
